I decided to make a pre-publication version available to anyone reading here, in the hope that at least some followers of this blog will be interested enough to read it and chime in with comments, critiques and suggestions for improvement. Over the years I've been impressed with the intelligence of so many who've contributed comments on this blog, and am eagerly looking forward to your responses.
I am therefor inviting anyone interested in receiving an MS Word copy of the entire preprint to email me at doktorgosh (at) live.com with their request. I'll promptly respond with the full text attached.
N.B.: The book is now available here, via Amazon.com.
A note on the use of pseudonyms. I originally chose the moniker DocG because I was afraid colleagues in the field(s) where I've published extensively might want to dismiss me as just another "crackpot who thinks he's solved the JonBenet Ramsey case." I might well be such a crackpot, but I certainly don't want fellow professionals to dismiss my more "serious" work on that basis. As for the use of a pseudonym for the new book, my motive is a bit different. Climate change has become such an emotionally charged topic that I'm afraid to use my real name for fear of alienating certain friends and relatives who feel very strongly about this issue. I'd love to take credit under my real name for all my hard work on this book, but I really don't want to destroy my relationship with people who are close to me as a result. It's a sad commentary on where things now stand in the world that such a stratagem should be necessary.
The brief Introductory chapter should convey a good sense of how the book is organized and what it's about:
Existential
Threat: Facing the Climate Change Abyss
Our world is in danger of spinning out of control, fraught
with a challenge far more daunting than anything humanity has ever experienced
in its long, convoluted history. And yes, I’m speaking of an “existential threat”
– only not the one you’re being urged to fear. We are currently faced with a
great many very real, very serious challenges: mass migration, mass shootings, regime
change wars, the ever-present possibility of nuclear war, economic inequality,
widespread poverty, drug addiction, etc. However, despite all these many, truly
alarming threats, the attention of huge segments of the population, including
many of our most influential scientists and powerful world leaders, is being
diverted to focus increasingly on one issue to the effective exclusion of all
others. You guessed it: “Climate Change.”
Characterized as an “existential threat” to the future of
mankind, the continual warming of the Earth due to the nefarious effects of
unchecked fossil fuel emissions has, according to just about every media
source, become the foremost danger faced by humanity today. Based on the
latest report from the UN-based IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change), we have only 12 years to drastically curtail our reliance on fossil
fuels (primarily oil, coal and natural gas) before the world is completely
overtaken by major hurricanes, droughts, forest fires, flooding, famine, mass
species extinctions, mass migrations and worse. Much worse – though precisely
how worse is hard to say. Especially since there is no real evidence for any of
it.
Yes, that’s what I said. Not only a lack of evidence, but compelling
evidence to the contrary.
Not that it matters.
In Part One of this book I will present a scientific review
of the evidence. And yes, I am indeed, as you’ve undoubtedly noted, a skeptic.
However, unlike so many others who’ve written on this topic, I don’t expect you
to believe me. In fact, unless you are already a skeptic, I feel sure you
won’t. Based on many years of experience debating this issue, I’ve concluded
that no matter what evidence one might present, no matter what science, what
research, what data, what logic, attempting to convince someone who doesn’t
want to be convinced is a waste of time.
What makes this book different is the
fact that I no longer really care whether or not you believe me. As I see
things, it’s already too late to argue one way or another on this topic. It’s
not that “the science is settled” – I feel sure it isn’t – it’s that the issue
is settled. Climate change is no longer a scientific matter, but a social
construct. The debate is over and it’s been won by those most adept at
influencing public opinion.
At this point, therefor, it’s no longer a matter of whether
“the science” is right or wrong, but whether humanity can survive the extremely
dangerous “existential” abyss we are now being forced to confront. I’m not
talking about the predicted climate disaster, but the social and psychological trauma
induced by demands increasingly seen as necessary to avoid it. The nature
of this abyss will be covered in Part Two. Those with no desire to read yet
another skeptical screed by another “denier” should feel free to skip Part One
altogether and proceed to Part Two.
Doc, I requested the pre-print book last night, and think it will be interesting. I imagine it did take careful and diligent research to cut through the bull and get to the facts. As you may have noticed, google searches are biased - interviews with scientists, climatologists, meteorologists, etc. are difficult to find yet google leads each search by proclaiming the U.S. is the biggest polluter of C02 emissions. In fact the U.S. has diligently reduced C02 emissions. The biggest polluters are China, Russia and India, although China has made some progress over the last two years. China is still the worst however. I won't be skipping Part One of your book, I will read it in it's entirety, or I can wait and buy your book. Please keep my name anonymous however, thank you, Y.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your interest, Y. But I haven't yet received your request. Are you sure you used the correct email address?

ReplyDeleteI'll try that again. Update: I read Existential Crisis. There were several quotes I took from it that I thought were insightful but one stood out: "we will be expected to destroy our world in order to save it." Really interesting read. Y
ReplyDeleteThat's from a Vietnam War quote, to which Doc is not entitled, as he never served. But by all means, keep up the ass licking, and yours so far singular support of his latest crackpot theory. He, like his second bestie, likes that
DeleteI agree with you Doc, that a conversation about Climate Change/Global Warming quickly devolves into political argument. In fact, using google for searches related to how the whole mania began yield nothing. I might venture a guess that it started with Al Gore, however it gained traction really in the last two years. I have my suspicions as to why, and why arguments about it move along political lines. I admit I was hoping your paper would speculate how all of it started, and how it was fueled, and why. I ran across this article:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/the-stunning-statistical-fraud-behind-the-global-warming-scare/
didn't know if you had included that one or not. I think you would agree, however, that because one is a skeptic, does not mean that a mind can't be changed, provided the data to the contrary is bolstered by scientific fact, not hyperbole.
Thanks for the link to that IBD article. I don't agree with the author's conclusion that the data "adjustments" in question were the result of a deliberate and dishonest attempt to "cook the books" to support their favored theory. In my experience it's usually more complicated than that. Perfectly honest researchers have been known to frame or adjust their data in such a way as to support a pet theory purely due to confirmation bias, based on the well known tendency for researchers to see things through the lens of their own preconceptions and/or expectations. This is why double-blind experiments have become the gold standard of so much research.
DeleteI've read through the paper that documents that adjustment process and could not help but notice how complex the process was and how many decisions had to be made as to which bodies of data to trust and which to adjust, and why. The problem here is that the study was led by Thomas Karl, a notorious climate change activist, whose decisions may well have been influenced (however unconsciously) by confirmation bias. Adjustments in long established raw data, assuming such is needed, should always be made by impartial researchers, not well known advocates such as Karl.
Nevertheless, when we take a look at the actual adjustments it seems clear that, contrary to all the fuss, they actually do very little to strengthen the "warmist" position. See, for example, this graph ( https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/9951524278f9d06ad0cfc6a0135028a61b5e1bce/0_0_2000_1454/master/2000.jpg?width=700&quality=85&auto=format&fit=max&s=54ec0b0cf688dc7666af85a356a62ddd ), which shows that literally all the significant adjustments involve data prior to 1940, and that the overall picture remains essentially unchanged.
I was unable to open your link, but I did note the graph you mentioned in your paper and how you would like to take a closer look had you had a chance to ask questions of the presenter.
ReplyDeleteI had initially tried to do a search as to just when the climate change/global warming conversation started, then how it picked up speed and spread like wildfire. And why. There is no question that during the Industrial Age factories were spewing smoke and polluting the atmosphere. Then we were afraid of acid rain. Then was it 20 years ago folks were afraid we were burning through the ozone layer. But you would think during the Industrial Age we would see the beginnings of the polar ice caps melting yet - the data doesn't support it.
I'm ever interested in how our changing culture gets on a particular bandwagon at a particular time but have noticed in the last 12 years how nearly everything we are up to in life has become politicized, which blurs all issues, clouds the facts, and does nothing to help us understand our universe and the people in it. Y
I agree with you, Y, regarding the political aspect. The climate change paradigm is consistent with the ecological concerns most of us on the left have held for some time. I say "us" because ecology has been a concern of mine as well. Whereas most Republicans tend to favor the interests of big corporations, including of course "big oil," "big gas" and "big coal." So when we began hearing about "the science" of global warming the lines were already pretty much drawn. I and a few others like me are the exceptions, sadly.
DeleteAs for how it all got started, many will point to an address made by climate activist James Hansen in 1988, who warned at that time that if we failed to do something drastic "NOW" temperatures would soar in tandem with CO2 emissions and all sorts of horrible events would follow. His concerns seemed justified at that time, because of what looked like an alarming upward trend in global temperatures beginning in the late 70's, a trend that lasted until roughly the end of the century, about 20 years. Since this trend coincided with the continual upward trend of CO2 emissions, it was all too easy to associate the two and conclude that the emissions were responsible for the rise in temperature.
However, beginning a bit before the turn of the century, global temperatures leveled off considerably while CO2 emissions continued to soar, the so-called "hiatus." By that time, however, a great many minds had already been made up and a kind of mental inertia set in. At least that's how I see it. If we examine the big picture, beginning with the early 20th century till now, then, as I demonstrate in my book, we see NO correlation between CO2 and temperature outside of those fateful 20 years.
I think you will recall how concerned we all were with the environment in the 1970's - Lady Bird Johnson's Beautify America, there were signs posted all along the highways and warnings of fines for littering. Then people were concerned with the landfills and cutting up plastic rings so that the seagulls wouldn't strangle on them - remember that? Was this just a lame attempt by the youth in America - the ones that are now praying to plants and asking forgiveness? Shortly after that the city would issue recycle bins, then we had to have a smog test on our cars once a year. It was random. Now it's every other year here. Smog tests have gone from $40 to $50, get one or else - no car registration renewal. Renewals went down in the early 90's, the older the vehicle, the less the cost to renew it. Then the price soared again. Plastic bags were eliminated in the grocery stores 3 years ago yet they continue to provide thin plastic bags in the produce section and you can always buy a plastic bag for ten cents - much more narrow ones that are not good for lining trash cans, yet I would think just as difficult to recycle.
ReplyDeleteI think what needs to be further teased out is just what kind of pollution is causing the current furor. Big oil, clean coal, factory smoke, car emissions, farting cows, etc. Greenhouse gases, okay, but what specifically.
There is this sense that we must do something NOW or the world will end as we know it. Someone started a clock when Al Gore predicted Armageddon, and that day came and went. Friends of mine paid $40,000 for a Chevy Volt, first one to be shipped to Michigan. He said he was sticking it to big oil. They aren't cheap. And as I look around here, I don't see many if any recharging stations. Hence, just how far can one go? Y
Yes, we're supposed to accept the premise that the science is settled when it isn't. It is difficult to disprove a theory when the goalpost keeps moving.
ReplyDeleteHey Doc, I tried to purchase your book on the Kindle store but I'm in the UK and am informed it is not available there. Anything you can do?

ReplyDeleteOkay guys, I moved us over here. :)
ReplyDeleteCC..First off, I feel like this is surreal. I awoke the other morning, sat on the edge of my bed and wondered if it was all just a bad dream. It wasn't, it's real, it's our new normal, our new reality. And yes, it sucks.
Mostly, I am trying to distance myself socially from everyone, and haven't gone to any major events, etc. Of course, I am still working and hoping to be able to continue unless this state of emergency we are in right now tightens and we are all quarantined. My concern is for my son who has scheduled vacation time followed by disability until this is over. We are doing whatever we can and hope and pray it's enough and we all get through it.
As far as Trump goes, I think he has done just about as much as any leader could possibly do and I give him credit for the China ban which probably saved us thousands more infections. I am mostly pissed off that most of our medicines and medical supplies are made in a communist country that pretty much hates us. I hope this is a wake up call to our politicians and corporations to think twice before investing in and depending on a foreign country so heavily as to impact our well being.
I also think this is a time where the country should pull together and stop the partisan crap, the blame game, the BS. Put the blame where it belongs. Had Xi done what any decent leader would have done, we wouldn't be in this nightmare. If our government had really been watching out for us, they wouldn't have left us vulnerable to a communist regime that now has the power to cut off our medicines, etc. It's a disgrace, and I urge our young people to not be so complacent and get out there and demand that we are protected in the future so that something like this cannot happen again.
How's it going down your way? Hope you're keeping well also and that we all get through it.
EG
EG,
DeleteThe only thing Trump administration could do better is put out better information about the Corona virus. The John's Hopkins immunologist is putting out a lot of good information. Wash hands frequently. Take Vitamin D and zinc supplements. Koreans are using malaria drugs with zinc to help fight the virus very effectively. Keep updating on the status of the vaccine trials. Keep updating on the status of drugs like Remdesivir. Start putting people on camera who have been infected and recovered and testing negative to share their experiences which people will find out will be very minor.
The CDC is handling the whole test kit thing poorly. The guy from NIH, Fauci, needs to stay off camera.
Trump's in a no win situation. Trump is a rational person and very difficult to deal with people around him acting irrationally. His whole team is acting rationally when everyone else around them are acting irrationally, very difficult. Look at Pelosi. She has some responsibility in all this and all she is doing is trying to take advantage of the situation, media too. The country could be sinking and all the Democrats and media are doing is throwing an anchor. It will come back to bite them.
ReplyDeletePaul,
ReplyDeleteThe media doesn't want to report any good news at all. They want to continue to sensationalize and invoke panic because it sells papers and they keep people tuned in and watching. They are totally irresponsible and I blame them mostly for the mass hysteria that's been happening.
I have no use for Nancy and think she should have retired ten years ago and I wasn't surprised at all at what they pulled. We have a government that doesn't work for the people, just doesn't work PERIOD, which is why Trump was elected.
As far as Fauci, I agree with you and am a bit surprised by him actually. I remember him acting quite differently when dealing with health crisis' in the past. I honestly don't know what to make of it and it's got me a bit worried.
EG
I think what might be going on with him and this is just a guess is that although he's a very respected infectious disease specialist, he is a deep stater. I don't think he likes Trump. He's professional enough not to be openly hostile but you can tell when he's up there on stage with him his demeanor is very dour. He's not going to do anything to help Trump. Also, I think he likes being a media darling and the media are openly hostile to Trump.
ReplyDeleteJust saw this, hilarious.

"A wall will not stop a Corona Virus" then,
ReplyDelete"Banning all travel from Europe or any other part of the world will not stop it.".....Joe Biden
The thing the Republicans have to be careful not to do is to do too much government spending geared at stopping this and thus causing a sluggish recovery when this is over. This will be over by the end of the month. That's what FDR did wrong during the 1930's. The deflationary spiral was over by first quarter of 1932 but FDR started all this government spending and it took until 1949 for the Dow to get to new highs. Difficult to shed the effects of too much debt.
ReplyDeleteBiden's right. A wall won't stop a virus, nor will a belated travel ban. It's being passed by what's termed "community spread", individual to individual, folks in the US who have not traveled abroad. Because of Trump's CDC and other public health cuts, we have inadequate testing and cannot determine how many citizens are actually infected.
ReplyDeleteEG is right. There's no need for panic, which the media has certainly fed, but there is a need for awareness, for personal precautions, which Trump has done nothing to advocate, and in fact seems to flaunt as a geriatric, morbidly obese guy with poor nutrition who does not exercise, who insists on shaking hands, and insists his Tampa rally will go on.
Paul tells us this will all be over in a month, tells us Trump has reacted appropriately. Both statements are false based on the experience of other countries.
Take care, E, stay sensible. You and I will probably be well, even if infected, but I fear for your son and others at risk.
And it's Vitamin C and zinc which boost the immune system, Paulie, not Vitamin D.
ReplyDeleteOh, for crying out loud. Vitamin D increases our resistance to respiratory infections. They're recommending low level doses less than 50 micro-grams per day. It's out there. I've posted it from Johns Hopkins. When it comes to science or math you probably should just sit in the corner and shut up.
ReplyDelete"Paul tells us this will all be over in a month, tells us Trump has reacted appropriately. Both statements are false based on the experience of other countries.".....Constance De Beverley

ReplyDeleteBiden's right? Really? Biden doesn't even understand the problem. The wall or the travel ban isn't designed to stop the virus. Trump knows we can't stop the virus. But, Trump knows we can slow it down to give us time to respond. We have to build up a collective immunity either through immunizations or a slow infection rate where the citizenry builds up a natural immunity and our health care system can respond. We don't want what happened in Wuhan (and in California) where they had to rapidly build temporary hospitals or seize hotel space.
From British Medical Journal:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.bmj.com/content/bmj/356/bmj.i6583.full.pdf
Trump doesn't know diddly. Witness his Rose Garden presser today and his address from the Oval Wednesday night.
ReplyDeleteThere are no "immunizations" for COVID-19 and no chance of a "natural immunity".
It's here, it's being spread person to person, testing and public health responses have been trampled by Trump, whose only concern is the economy and his reelection.
Trump told us two weeks ago there were only fifteen cases, and soon it would be down to just one.
He just lies, and this time it's costing lives.
Man, my explanation just whizzed right over your head.
ReplyDelete"There are no "immunizations" for COVID-19 and no chance of a "natural immunity"
So, all the people who have recovered from COVID-19 don't have natural immunity?
So, we're not going to develop immunizations?
That's why we want to slow it down. So, our health care system can handle the severe cases and the ones that aren't severe are where the population is building up an immunity. Hopefully by next viral season we'll have vaccinations.
The folks who have recovered are sufficiently healthy and not immuno-supressed and so can survive a viral infection. They have no "natural immunity".
ReplyDeleteWe may well develop immunizations, but not in time to combat the present epidemic.
None of which takes away from Trump's lies and failures . . . "from 15 to 1". Epic.
It's called anti bodies. People who have had SAR-COV-2 have developed anti bodies so probably are naturally resistant to getting it again. When I say natural immunity I mean people who have an immunity due to their DNA or from being exposed to it and developing anti bodies, not from immunizations. With immunizations you are injecting a dead virus and inducing the body to develop anti bodies.
ReplyDelete"[W]hen you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done"
ReplyDelete"It's going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear."
Trump, on coronavirus, which he today declared a national emergency.
For once I agree with you. Trump was a little too nonchalant publicly about the virus. So, let's impeach him. However, non publicly his actions have been excellent. A President can do so much. What can he do? He can help mitigate which is what he did. He can also free up some funding which is also what he has done. The government systems we have, CDC, NIH, and HHS have been entrenched long before Trump came along. Also, I've heard there has been a lot of in fighting between the different agencies. Trump did good today by turning this over to private enterprise.
ReplyDeleteI think part of the cause of Trump's nonchalant approach is because of his relationship with the media and how they are openly hostile towards him. He knows they want to blow this up with the goal of hurting him.
Also, other countries like Korea were more ready for this because they were experienced with SAR1 and MERS. Being right next to China can you blame them? Same for Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. From now on we will be ready too.
ReplyDeleteThis epidemic has several silver linings. We are learning how to fight these viruses and how to get prepared. Also, we are learning the weaknesses of globalization. It is teaching us we must be much more self sufficient. We learned this with oil and we are learning it with infectious disease and supply chains.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a self-absorbed idiot interested only in what affects his public perception and chances of re-election.
ReplyDeleteHe deeply cut CDC and NIH funding, and in 2018 eliminated the NSC pandemic response office.
He hurts himself at every turn, and the media cannot be blamed for reporting it.
Also, yes he does want to get re-elected. All of us on the right want him to get re-elected. He knows this. Trump is doing this because he wants to Make America Great Again, not Hope and Change, foolish idiocy.
DeleteWell if that's what he did then I don't blame him for cutting CDC or NIH or NSC pandemic response office. However, and I haven't looked at the actual numbers, government usually calls a decrease in the increase a cut. I know how funny you and the left are with numbers. Trump know intuitively that the free market and private enterprise are much more suited to respond to things like pandemics, not government. Trump is doing what we elected him to do, make government smaller. We don't need a nanny state.
ReplyDeleteAlso, he's not hurting himself at every turn. I explained it to you. He's doing everything a President can do. You will find this has been way overblown, mostly by the media and these so called experts who come on TV and say this is going to get much worse; this is armageddon. This will be over by the end of the month. I'm not saying it will be completely over. There will be other cases. But, the worst will be over. By the end of this month we as a nation will collectively realize this has been way overblown and the left have tried to use this to hurt Trump. Is this psychopathic? Using tragedy to hurt your political opponent?
ReplyDeleteHeather Land:

I have to disagree with the both of you regarding Trump being nonchalant initially. He was trying to keep people calm, as the media was causing mass hysteria. It would not have done anyone any good had he come out in full panic mode.

EG,
ReplyDeleteYes, love "If", one of my favorites and most appropriate. And, I agree with you that is what he was trying to do. That's what the media wanted him to do so they could bash him for it. Don't you think it was no win for him? This will all be over soon.
Biden, the functional idiot, gave a speech more presidential than the orange fool. (Who does his makeup?) Obama released a comforting statement.
ReplyDeleteTrump has released nothing but ass-covering lies.
I'm here for you, E, and deeply concerned for your son. You know how to reach me if you need anything. Still look forward to meeting you at Mayo Jax, should that come to pass.
In reality, 90% of the bad is already past us. The stock market is going to shoot up for about a week and then have one final plunge but it won't plunge much lower than it is now.

I think again that is indicative of his relationship with the press. They are openly hostile to him. Trump is so amazing. You're right, anytime he's in front of the press or tweets it's insane. He's like Moses in the Bible who had all kinds of faults. He wasn't a natural born leader. Trump is somewhat the same. He's like Moses, a disruptor. But God is guiding him, somehow. In his speeches he connects with people. They're drawn to him by God. The most consequential President in this country's history.
ReplyDeleteI like watching the press conferences. Especially the ones that show the faces of the press. They openly hate him. This is to their detriment, not Trump's. Trump will forever be loved. They will be hated.
ReplyDeleteThe witless words are coming from his mouth.
ReplyDelete"I alone can fix it."
ReplyDeleteHe was right.
Then he should get on with it. Right fucking now.
ReplyDeleteHe already has.
ReplyDeleteThank you both for your good thoughts, words and wishes for my son. We are hanging in here and pretty much self quarantining. I think the social distancing will help tremendously and we shall see in the coming weeks if it's working as expected. I hope and pray that it does.
ReplyDeleteOur IT people were meeting at our office today to discuss the dynamics needed to allow us to work from home. I will be going into the office on Monday but after that, not sure. I have my own office, so the 6 feet apart works for us. We do however, exchange papers, etc throughout the day so we shall see.
It was good to see the politicians actually working together but sad that it took a pandemic to make it happen. We are all in this together and at this time should all be behind the President supporting his efforts. I SO hope you're right Paul and hope this is a wake up call to corporations and politicians to never again place our health and welfare in the hands of a foreign country who is not an ally, but rather an enemy that would like nothing better than to see us destroyed. I am absolutely livid over this, and would love to know how this happened? Why don't we make our own antibiotics, pain killers, medical supplies anymore? This has to change...quickly.

Trump has been right about the Chinese all along though. He's tried to be friendly with Xi but he realizes China is not our friend. It is leftist. It is nationalistic. It is authoritarian. And, it is a liar. Wonder who it sounds like?
DeleteHi EG, I don't recall what issues your son has but wish him well.
Delete- COVID post -
My husband got an email Saturday from his company that starting Wednesday all in his office building will be working from home until further notice. He's in IT security for the nuclear power division and they have always allowed employees to work from home 2 days a week prior to this so it won't be a big adjustment.
My area also has 2 drive-thru virus tastings, with results given within 4 hours (per my local FOX news). My state just had their first reported case Friday, with now a total of 12 in the state, and 5 in my county. The first reported case in my county that man had traveled overseas and became sick and brought it back here.
Because Big Pharma is a money-grubbing entity which Trump totally supports and for which he underwrote major tax cuts in 2017.
ReplyDeleteThis was informative...it's been happening for quite some time, it seems, way before Trump. In fact, I think it's been Trump who has spoken out against the bad trade deals with China, etc and is the only one in recent years who has made an attempt to change the status quo. China would like nothing more than to see us fail and therefore, fall.

ReplyDeleteBig Pharma has been a problem for years. Their outsized profit demands caused them to outsource to China and others offshore.
But it's Trump who gave them tax cuts and who failed to support CR 43.
Our corporations were way over taxed compared to the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteFirst you claim Biden is a tool of corporations, now you defend them, and Trumpy with them.
ReplyDeleteGet on your knees and pray today, something to which your hero is antithetical, but to which you all turn as a cure.
Or a panacea. Facts are facts. It's a national emergency which Trump has done nothing to aid or absolve, other than approving Nancy's bill, which Moscow Mitch is right now stalling.
ReplyDeleteOn your knees.
What are you referring to that I claimed Biden is a tool of corporations? He was in bed with a corrupt Ukrainian Gas executive. He corruptly took advantage of many situations involving individuals. The FBI are investigating his brother. But, corporations aren't inherently evil. Government is inherently evil. Many politicians are corruptly involved with certain corporate executives. That has nothing to do with corporations being over taxed, or not.
ReplyDeleteCorporations are no more inherently evil than Democrats, "leftists", educated - and therefore elitist, in your skewed estimation - professors or attorneys.
ReplyDeleteIf there's evidence of Biden's wrongdoing, Billy B would have brought it long since.
Biden's brother isn't running for president, nor is his smarmy son.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile your dude defrauded through his Foundation and University, his children have been banned from charitable work in New York state, and they continue to enrich themselves through daddy's position.
Pot, meet kettle.
If they're not running for office why have they been getting all the largess and fortune from Uncle Joe's dirty dealings around the world?
DeleteRepresentatives from Google said they were caught off guard on Friday when Trump said the tech company was ‘helping to develop a website … to determine whether a test is warranted and to facilitate testing at a nearby convenient location’ for Americans who suspect they may have contracted the coronavirus. In a statement shared on Twitter from Verily, a subsidiary of Google, the company said it is still 'developing a tool to help triage individuals for COVID-19 testing’ that would initially only be available in the San Francisco Bay Area."
ReplyDeleteLies, lies and more lies.
What a guy! What a leader!
We've found out the story about the representatives from Google being caught off guard is fake news.

ReplyDeleteOkay, so I was home today, my boss told me not to come in as he works on setting me up at home with a laptop with the required bells and whistles so that I can be compliant and able to work from home.
My daughter's office told all their employees over 60 to stay home and my son is home from work indefinitely now.
Everything is pretty much shut down here and so we are all hunkered down and getting through it as best we can. I hope within he next couple of weeks, we see good things happening and that curve levels off and proceeds to go down. I did read that they're working on treatment with anti-virals that seem to be successful and they have begun human trials on a vaccine.
I watched the debate last night and was surprised that Biden did as well as he did. He did say he'd choose a woman as his VP and I wasn't surprised at that. Anyone else watch it?
Hi Lil -- good to see you posting--stay well. My son is currently on dialysis and is on several transplant lists throughout the country. We are hoping and praying it happens sooner than later, although now with this current health crisis going on, transplants are probably on hold for now.
Stay well!
EG
Happy first day of spring EG. Hoping things go well for your son. I guess many surgeries are being delayed for now except for the most critical. Does he have one of those special masks for wearing during dialysis and being out in public?
DeleteMy county just had 4 new cases since yesterday, so now 25 in my county, and 51 total in my state.
Do you have enough supplies for 2 weeks? I re-purposed some old Listerine to clean a trash can. At least it smells nice, lol.
Oops, tomorrow is spring, so happy last day of winter! I think last week was Happy Holi for those that celebrate that.
DeleteEG,
ReplyDeleteHearing that only elective surgeries are on hold. Paul
But we're good, 'cause Trump said today he has it all under "tremendous control".
ReplyDelete"Not, not uh, something I want to do everyday. You know, it’s a little bit of uh, it’s a little bit of, good doctors in the White House, but it’s a test. It’s a test. It’s a medical test, nothing pleasant about it.”
ReplyDeleteAll hail our incoherent chief, in his latest lying attempt to slow the stock market slide.
"Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves.”
ReplyDeleteTrump held yet another disastrous coronavirus conference today, in which he couldn’t give a single answer that was of any real value to anyone. That said, this time around it was different. There was a whole change in the nature of Trump’s babbling.
ReplyDeleteFor the first time in probably his entire political existence, Donald Trump insisted today that the media is being “very fair.” He also took a pass on an opportunity to attack one of the people he hates most, Amazon and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos. Trump admitted we’re probably heading into a recession, and he pessimistically said he fears the coronavirus crisis might not be over until July or August.
This raises the question of what happened. Just this morning, Trump was taking cheap shots at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Twitter. Now, this afternoon, Trump has clearly become scared. Sure, he bizarrely gave himself a ten out of ten for his handling of the crisis, but for the most part this wasn’t the usual Trump today, or even the recent Trump. It was some other new variant of Trump, who’s spooked enough to go so far as to try to make nice with the media.
Considering how horribly and dishonestly he’s botched this, and how many Americans are going to die as a result of his negligence, we award Donald Trump no points for anything he said today. Besides, he’ll probably be back to viciously attacking people by tomorrow; it’s his nature. But something must have happened between this morning and this afternoon that truly shook him. His suspicious answer about his own supposed coronavirus test?
Dow down 3000. Trump babbling useless shit. But you're all good with the crook and liar? Why? How?
ReplyDeleteIs Trump responsible for the Federal Reserve? Is Trump responsible for the Social Security Act of 1935? Is Trump responsible for going off the gold standard? Is Trump responsible for Medicaid and Medicare and all other entitlements? Is Trump responsible for the trillions of dollars of debt we've accumulated? Is Trump responsible for the last three years of endless investigations and attacks from the left? Is Trump responsible for globalization? Is Trump responsible for outsourcing all of our critical supply chains?
ReplyDeleteNothing under the Sun will stop this now. Nothing.
ReplyDelete"This raises the question of what happened. Just this morning, Trump was taking cheap shots at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Twitter. ReplyDeleteCuomo is a fool. He is going to position himself as the answer to everyone's problem when he is the problem. Leftism is the problem. But, we're past the point of no return, over a hundred years of leftist policies from Woodrow Wilson to now and look where we are, trillions of dollars in debt. Trump was our last gasp. He was our nation's last gasp. I guess we collectively realized it but too late.
He's supposedly in charge. He's responsible. He's an unabashed idiot.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear you're finally recognizing he "was".
ReplyDeleteThe Fed, which for 11 months Trump has been begging to drop rates to enhance his image, has nothing to do with the Dow.
ReplyDeleteYour hero is a documented crook.
He's orange. Everything about him is fake, fat and false.
Bedtime in the trailer park?
ReplyDeleteThe coronavirus is a national epidemic. It's causing widespread panic, yet your pres says it's all good, all fine, and Paulie promised 2 weeks ago it would only last for a month
ReplyDeleteBuckle up, people. And by all means, buy his book.
Some one needs to support him.
The Corona virus isn't the problem, genius. You're so clueless, so absorbed in your leftist ideology. We'll get through the Corona virus. It's just a distraction.
ReplyDeleteFrom?
ReplyDeleteYou really don't know?
ReplyDeleteOne seldom does with you, only that it's guaranteed to be some weird rant about Democrats, "leftists", socialists and psychopaths.
ReplyDeleteThe coronavirus is a national emergency. The economy is tanking. Trump is a failure.
But sure, rave on.
Well, you have it all figured out so there you have it.
ReplyDeleteI do. Trump is a huge orange failure, you're flailing.
ReplyDeleteA tweet from home where she is reportedly “working” as the coronavirus pandemic paralyzes the country, White House adviser Ivanka Trump shared a picture of herself spending family time with her kids in what appeared to be yet another photo-op by the exceedingly image-conscious daughter of the Chump, who has 11 patents from China, and whose husband made $52M last year from his daddy-in-law's opportunity areas.
ReplyDeleteBut sure, let's talk about Biden's unproved corruption.
Let's talk about crooks.
ReplyDeletePower off to the trailer park again? Or just the juice to your red hat?
ReplyDeleteTrump today, "always knew it was a pandemic "
Over soon, this month, P poo
Not.
ReplyDeleteI've always known this is a real — this is a pandemic,” Trump told the media on Tuesday in the White House press briefing room. “I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”
ReplyDeleteGood news, except it's untrue. 15 - zero. A miracle is right around the corner. A Democratic hoax.
But we're all happy you're onboard.
People are dying, you great orange asshole.
There are at least 8,525 coronavirus cases in the US.
ReplyDeleteBut it's all good. It's contained. It's just a Democratic hoax.
I never said it was a hoax. But, the media have fanned the flames of this in their never ending desire to hurt Trump and have unwittingly hurt themselves and the entire country. This has caused a fissure in the credit system that can't be repaired. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can stop it now. Let me give you a few of the facts about the corona virus to calm you down. I think you're close to a breakdown. Based on an article in Science recently and using Bayesian statistics it indicates the actual mortality rate of the virus is about 0.2%. This means 2 out of every 1000 who contract the disease will die. Somewhat scary I know but was it worth fanning the flames and using it to hurt Trump? Based on this article, the number of deaths is probably the most accurate statistic being kept on the corona virus. Therefore the number of actual cases in the US is about 77,500. When people start doing all these tests they're rolling out the number will probably jump to over 30,000 initially within the next week or so. Most people who have the symptoms won't get tested. I'm estimating about 3/4's of the US population will contract it before the vaccines roll out, if they ever do. The virus is moving too fast. This puts an upper bound on the number of deaths at 400,000. It is a staggering figure I know but it might be a lot lower if these new treatment drugs prove effective. The media in their zeal to hurt Trump caused the fissure. It doesn't really matter though because when you have a money system built on credit it is eventually going to crack. And, if the crack is big enough there is no stopping it. This one is big enough.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm trying to help you understand is that the corona virus will kill a few hundred thousand Americans. The fissure in the credit system will kill millions.
ReplyDeleteI've heard through the grapevine that Trump is trying to get hydroxychloroquine to the market. I've heard he's authorized purchasing of mass quantity. Hopefully they can expeditiously get this done and stop this dreadful disease. There are many hurdles though, manufacture, testing, approval, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt's a malaria drug. It's been around for years.
ReplyDeleteReally? Gee, you're so informative.
ReplyDeleteYou remember the other day when we were talking about Remdesivir? Well, Remdesivir inhibits the replication of viral RNA by inhibiting the Replicase at one of the amino acid sites. Well zinc (2+) ion does the same thing. The problem is zinc is an ion in the body, in cytosol, and doesn't readily move through the cell membrane. That's where hydroxychloroquine comes into play. Hydroxychloroquine is a zinc ionophore. An ionophore helps move an ion through a cellular membrane. So, it will be important to dose zinc while also dosing hydroxychloroquine. The physicians might think you have enough zinc in your diet but take supplemental anyway. I think Trump will give the FDA a few days to fast track this but if it appears they are moving too slowly he will just override them. For crying out loud it is already being used in Korea to save patients.
ReplyDeleteThe number of confirmed cases is getting ready to go into hyper orbit now that they have rolled out the tests. The number of deaths are actually are best most accurate number so with 176 death this indicates there are really 88,000 cases. The population isn't really going to understand what this means and the press is going to go berserk again attacking Trump. What the higher number will really indicate a much lower mortality rate but the populace won't figure this out for about a week. Trump will have to act fast and get these drugs hyper-tracked.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know what to make of all of this but mainly I am angry. Angry with the politicians, the corporations and the medical field.
ReplyDeleteThey are talking about a drug for malaria that's 100 years old. The medical field has been given billions over the past 55 years and what have they done? Where are the Salks, the Flemings? They get up on those podiums and they talk about all they're doing these past three weeks. My question to them is WTF have you been doing for the past 55 years? We still have cancer, diabetes, kidney disease and many more, and we still don't have a cure for a coronavirus?!! We have to look at a drug that's 100 years old??!!!
And now, that it might help, youre wasting time trying to get approvals for manufacturing enough for everyone to maybe avoid those figures Paul stated??!!!
I hope the greedy politicians and corporations are happy with all the money they've made by selling us down the river.
We need divine intervention here folks. Please pray.
EG
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition! I say that because I spent some time working in my grandma's old room at my dad's house today. Besides the various stuff my dad collected that I was trying to sort into piles, I uncover an Italian 380 gun loaded with hollow points, 900 rounds of 22LR, then 10 more boxes of that, a Luger air gun, and 2 boxes of 22 WMR. No hand sanitizer tho. Called my hub and said come get it!
Delete*I also did reply to you upthread EG.* :)
My county had 3 pressers today about all the shutdowns, so I got 2 weeks worth of dog and cat food today and some groceries and gas. I hope we don't have to endure what Italy and China have been with the losses.
I read this last night, short footage in Italy, they are having to transport the dead to other areas for cremation. :(
ReplyDelete"Scary! Truly heartbreaking! #Italian military trucks were spotted in #Bergamo, allegedly the Italian Army was transporting coffins of the dead to other towns for cremation out of #Lombardy region, as city's crematorium is overwhelmed."
https://twitter.com/i/status/1240812783027052544
DL,
ReplyDeleteDon't read that shit. It will stress you out and put you in panic mode. Trump is going to override the FDA and get the hydroxychloroquine to market ASAP. There will only be less than one percent of those infected who will need the treatment.
I'm not really stressed out yet. I just feel bad for the Italians, and many of the doctors there that treated people have now died. It's just a somber reminder, to see military vehicles transporting the dead.
DeleteMy state is now at 78 infected. I did wear gloves, a mask, eyewear yesterday when out and kept my distance. We as a country should be glad that things like our power grid, water supply and the like aren't effected.
Grown people shouldn't need a president to tell them how to wash their hands and cover their coughs and sneezes. But it still has to be said, as we still get e. coli outbreaks from people not washing after eliminating.
My maternal aunt died at 13 from polio, both kinds, long before I was born. I grew up with the stories of how that was for my family. Then the AIDS was scary during my high school years. If everyone Keeps Calm, we can get get through this.
Well the number just rose to 106, with my county still in the lead. No gatherings of more than 10 for the county. It will be interesting to later see what all the people look like that rely on others for their cut and color, weaves and extensions, microblading, fake nails and eyelashes and the juvaderm.
DeleteI'm with Senator Rick Scott. I don't want any US Airlines bailout. That's what bankruptcy is for. The only ones the bailout helps are the executives and large investors and banks.
ReplyDeleteThe President needs to keep Anthony Fauci off the TV. He's a disaster.
ReplyDeleteHi DL!
ReplyDeleteI am with you, but we can't have guns here so forget the ammunition. ;(
We have the most cases here which was expected with so many people in such a small area. We are all hunkered down here in my house. I heard some good news this morning on one of the shows. They are seeing the testing come in now and it looks to be a lower death rate than first expected. Talk of perhaps allowing healthy people to start going out into the work force after next week and then follow it up by the seniors and the people with compromised immune systems. I am hanging onto that and praying its true.
Stay well peeps!
EG
Hey EG,
DeleteThey'll eventually report the death rate at only about 0.2%. The problem with this virus is it is highly contagious with no immunity so it will eventually infect almost everyone-just like the common cold. I feel sorry for those people in NY city who work at the restaurants who work on tips. I think it's a bad move by Cuomo. I saw a story about a restaurateur who owns 20 restaurants in NYC who had to lay off over 250 employees. He said many of his restaurants won't be able to come back. A lot of small business people are heavily leveraged.
I feel it is also a bad move by Gavin Newsom in California, typical leftist goes full totalitarian. His move is going to end so many small businesses. Many more will die because of this.
DeleteGlad you're doing good EG. More freedoms here as far as the guns/ammo, but I can't eat bullets, ha. And now I'm craving bacon and didn't buy any on my grocery run!
DeleteYour city is still doing carry out and food deliveries correct? I would think the drone delivery industry would be booming right now. Something for people to invest in.
EG,
ReplyDeleteAlso, women are more resistant to new viruses than men. Makes sense doesn't it?
Now the NYT is writing that "Trump is defying science by embracing unproven medicine." They will never learn.
ReplyDeleteAustralian doctors are having some success with the meds they are trying. So that looks very promising, at least for their patients that have shown the virus eliminated.
DeleteWell I've never seen anything like it here in the UK and it's about to get worse, truly scary times, no one about in the evenings and panic buying has caused mile long queues outside supermarkets first thing in the mornings, was a big joke to start with all the loo roll buyers but not anymore. I think we'll be on lockdown in a few days. Sending my best wishes for your son EG, stay safe everyone
ReplyDeleteHi Evej, so another country buying up the toilet paper too. So that's the US, Canada, and now UK that I've heard. Likely other countries too. How is your area with hand sanitizer? It used to be that if there was a threat of snow, there would be a run on bread and milk. That's it, wiped the shelves clean. But never paper goods until now.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, an exercise in patience and learning new social habits.
Hi lil, it's all sorts really, started with toilet roll but running out of everything, I couldn't get dog food yesterday nor milk, bread or eggs, no hand sanitizer or paracetamol. Our numbers are heading like Italy so strict measures will be put in place. Things are being updated and acted upon daily.
ReplyDeleteEvej,
ReplyDeleteIf possible you want to try to start thinking ahead of what might run out next. That's the strategy I used and stayed ahead of the mob. Be thinking about things like batteries, phone charger cords, soap, light bulbs, paper towels, bag pet food, dish washing liquid, laundry detergent, apples, pears, oranges, potatoes, onions, canned food (beans, yams, carrots, fruit), etc.) Stuff like snacks, meat, etc. you don't need.
Also, dental products, alcohol, peroxide, mouthwash, filters, etc.
ReplyDeleteHi Paul, I have written a list which includes most of what you have said, husband and daughter still working today but think things might change when Boris has his daily announcement later on today.
ReplyDeleteYes when you go into a store and see something on the shelf that you routinely use but there are lots of it don't say to yourself, "I don't need to get that because there's plenty of it." Get it!
DeleteEvej, keep in mind things that may be plentiful now, to use for other purposes than intended; like coffee filters, wee wee pads for puppies, baby/body wipes.
DeleteIf Pluto the mini schnauzer hasn't made it over to the UK socials, you might find her suggestions a bright spot, :) she is from the Canadalands.
https://youtu.be/p8oxndup1QM
This thing's going to be over by the end of the month, April 2nd at the latest. Just like I said it was.
ReplyDeletePaul, apparently you must be unaware of the covidiots that are being extremely stoopid still. Just yesterday someone in Cali went live having their beautician come to the house, no gloves or face mask and certainly not 6 feet apart so she could have her eyelash extensions done! On March 18 my state had 51 cases, this AM it's now 196, with 86 in my county. You're not Nostradamus. People don't need to be a doomsdayer nor a Pollyanna right now.
DeleteNot here it wont Paul, we're not even at the peak of what Italy had with the same death rate yet. Holiday companies and flights are cancelled, some up till June.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't know, he's just parroting Trump. Most epidemiologists here have much grimmer assessments.
DeleteStay safe, evie. Thinking of you.
Just parroting Trump? Hell, I've been saying this for three weeks now. Trump is saying Easter. It won't take that long. Trust me guys.
DeleteWe don't.
DeleteI started talking about Remdesivir and hydroxychloroquine two weeks ago. You tend to forget inconvenient facts don't you?
DeleteHope none of you are afflicted with Lupus? All the hospitals are scarfing up all the available hydroxychloroquine. There should be more available soon.
Thanks CC, you too x
ReplyDeleteThe mortality multiplier the last few weeks has been 5. That means every week, 5 times more people die. When we see that multiplier turn down it will be over. Should be within a week and a half or so. DL, that's my middle name, Paul Nostradamus Charriere. It has nothing to do with epidemiology. It has everything to do with a cure, a gift from God, Trump.
ReplyDeleteSince this is an epidemic, I'll stick with the epidemiologists and you can keep your gift from god.
ReplyDeleteYou mean epidemiologists like Anthony Fauci? He's tied in with big pharma. He's pushing vaccinations and show's little interest in treatment. He's a twit.
DeleteTrump needs to can his sorry ass as soon as this is over.
DeleteFauci is an immunologist, so small wonder his interest in vaccinations. His only qualification for the Task Force appears to be his willingness to stand on a stage with Trump and then attempt to clean up his lies and misinformation.
ReplyDeleteI was referring to the folks at the CDC, NIH and WHO.
Truth is the daughter of time, not authority.
DeleteShe's sure no relative of Trump's.
Delete"She's sure no relative of Trump's."......Constance De Beverley.
DeleteEverything I've stated on this board about the Corona Virus has been accurate and has happened. I'm telling you now by the end of next week the worst will have happened and the stock market will bottom. The Corona Virus is not the problem. It is the fissure in our credit system. I fear we have passed the point of no return. But, Trump is the most consequential President we have ever had and he may yet save us. He was put here for a reason.
ReplyDeleteI cant see that Paul, in your country or mine, in fact half the world. The poor fled Lombardy to the poorer south in Italy, and took the virus with them. Germany on the other hand are handling it better as they are testing everyone, therefore carriers are being isolated as well as the infected, they have had a lot less deaths considering how many are infected there. We need a vaccine and quickly.
DeleteTrust me evej, everything's going to be OK. Italy has about 3.4M cases right now. That's why the death rate seems high. They are under counting the number of cases. 3.4M out of 60M citizens is alarming but, as soon as these treatments are in wide-spread distribution we'll start curing everyone so it won't matter if you get it. Also, only about .5% of those infected will need treatment, 1/200 maybe less.
DeleteWe're going to be making that drug 24/7 for US citizens and our friends around the world including Italy, just hold on evej. We'll probably be making if for our enemies too. That's how we are.
DeleteYup. To illustrate the perils of the outmoded electoral college system.
ReplyDeleteOutmoded electoral college system? Spoken like a true leftist.
ReplyDeleteMore name calling = Paulie's been backed into another corner, yet again.
ReplyDeleteJust illuminating your web spinning.
ReplyDeleteBacked into another corner-LOL. You live in a surreal world. You have been wrong about everything. Do they call you "Always Wrong" in court?
ReplyDeleteYou're going to see better counting ratios in the more rural states. That's because the disease multiplier isn't as high. It's really high in high density areas like NYC, similar to HIV.
ReplyDeleteNothing but fear mongering on NBC and MSNBC.
ReplyDeleteThere's actually over 400,000 cases in the US now. Not 60,000.
ReplyDeleteI hope Trump doesn't sign this bill. $350B for small businesses. If there are 30M small businesses in the US that means $11,600 for every small business on non weighted average, ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteStupid Nevada Governor bans hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine because someone died from using a fish-tank additive with chloroquine in it. The problem is that if you look at the label of the fish tank additives, they have other ingredients including possibly a biocide. Also, if you overdose either med you CAN die. That's why you should use either under a physicians care.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's just banning private sale. Hopefully that is the case.
ReplyDeleteMaker of Remdesivir wants FDA to rescind special designation (so they can bring it immediately to bear against Corona Virus).
ReplyDeleteRumors are out there that the death toll in China due to the Corona Virus has surpassed 1 million. The Chinese have never been open. They are afraid of their populace. That is what you get from a leftist totalitarian regime. The Democrats want to bring that kind of regime to your neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteHere are some of Pelosi's add-ons:
ReplyDelete1. Corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards at companies receiving assistance
2. Bailing out all current debt of postal service
3. Required early voting
4. Required same day voter registration
5. 10k bailout for student loans
6. For companies accepting assistance, 1/3 of board members must be chosen by workers
7. Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
8. Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
9. Greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
10. Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
11. $15 minimum wage at companies receiving assistance
12. Permanent paid leave at companies receiving assistance
EG:
ReplyDeleteI tried to find your email address on our correspondence from years ago so I could contact you privately, but apparently I have some sort of auto-delete function.
Please let me know how you're doing, here or privately. The news and photos coming out of NYC are very alarming.

It looks like the FDA has fast-tracked the use of blood plasma to treat SARS-CoV2. The problem is that this is not a quick solution. They have to get the plasma from patients who have had SARS-CoV2. You don't start getting the IgG positives until about a month after showing negative on the rTPCR tests. We will have 64 million Americans infected in about 5 weeks. We need the hydroxychloroquine and the Remdesivir now.

ReplyDeleteevej,
ReplyDeleteItaly's multiplier is less than the US's multiplier. US is high right now due to NY. US is >5 whereas, Italy's is <5. That is if all the deaths are being reported in Italy.
Really doesn't matter, its pandemic everywhere now, all we can do is lockdown and wait for numbers to drop or a cure
ReplyDeleteIt does matter. That multiplier is the key. If it peaks and then starts trending down that means we're turning the corner.
ReplyDeleteLet me give you an example. Early on, Korea's multiplier was 3 but it quickly started dropping after a couple of weeks. It is now less than 1. Although their total deaths are still going up their death rate has substantially slowed. That's what we want to see everywhere.
ReplyDeleteAs usual you're utterly missing the point.
ReplyDeleteEvie's is that this is a people problem, and that it's worldwide.
People are suffering and dying, more will do so regardless of your "multipliers", your credit fissures, your politicizations, your false assurance of cures and your false promise it will all be over by April 2nd.
It's about people, Paulie. Human lives.
Really? Human lives? It's a math problem. That's how we save lives.
DeleteAre those million fetuses every year human lives?
DeleteLook, Paul, you've 2 or 3 times tried to introduce abortion into the conversation, usually as a deflection when you've stepped on your dick yet again. It's not an appropriate topic here.
DeleteI understand your need to please father/authority figures, and your nascent longing to be perceived as an authority yourself, but it's time to face facts:
In the six months you've been here you've failed as a JBR contributor or thoughtful inquisitor, while routinely insulting others. You've failed (spectacularly) as a lay legal scholar. You've failed at political punditry, and now you've failed at being a coronavirus authority. Do you never notice that you get few responses, despite sometimes as many as 6 or 7 consecutive posts?
I've a suggestion for you, and it's kindly meant and may satisfy your need for some sort of recognition: Start your own blog. Come back and publish its web address here, post it to whatever message boards you seem to frequent. Lil can help with that. Put it on reddit/JBR, reddit/Trump, send it to your compatriots in your local Trumpy cell.
You can be the ultimate authority on any subject upon which you wish to pontificate, whereas here you're just not gonna' get what you need.
Hello guys!
ReplyDeleteChecking in here from the country's Coronavirus epicenter. Thank you for your thoughts, concerns and positive posts.
First off, we are doing okay, thank God. My fridge is stocked and so we don't need to go out much. When we do go out, we are masked and gloved and that's only when necessary. At home we are following the guidelines and luckily I have a condo with three levels which affords us plenty of space to keep apart. My son is doing well and is closely monitored which is good.
I am working from home for the past two weeks, which keeps my mind occupied, something I need more than ever right now. It's a ghost town here, everything is closed. I wake up everyday asking myself if I am dreaming all this, the reality of it is just too horrific.
I can't say I am not frightened, because I am. As a mother, of course you're strong for everyone else, but when alone, I have my moments and find myself depressed and weepy wondering when and how this is all going to end.
Thank you for thinking of us here, and please keep us in your prayers.
EG
Good to hear from you E. I saw the photos of the morgue tents going up behind Bellevue, flashed back to 9/11.
DeleteSounds like you're doing everything right. Stay safe. Stay in touch when you can.
"The University of Alabama at Birmingham will join more than 70 sites around the world as a trial site for the experimental antiviral drug remdesivir, which was developed as a potential coronavirus treatment through research at UAB."

One drawback with Remdesivir is that it has to be administered intravenously. However, it might be more effective. Not seeing any data yet.
ReplyDeleteInitially the leftists were complaining that Trump was not leading. That he was not out front have news conferences and giving information and direction regarding this war with the Corona Virus. Now, the leftists are complaining about Trump's news conferences because his approval ratings are rising.
ReplyDeleteNow the leftists are proclaiming the Corona Virus as America's Virus because the US has surpassed China. The media is actually pretending the information China is publishing is accurate. No one believes this. The press has zero respect for the American people.
