New Thread

Time for a new thread, I've been told. (What's wrong with the old one, if I may ask?)

1,373 comments:

  1. Not a thing, but in the past you have typically started a new thread when the old one gets up around 200 comments, as newcomers don't always know to press "Load more", and it can be cumbersome for those of us who post only on their cell phones.

Sorry, Doc, it was my email suggestion, made as I know you're busy and don't always have time to check this blog.

  2. Wow, this reddit thread is so in depth on the marks found on JonBenet's back.

Very lengthy read. But very informative.

Note: please do not replicate this experiment on any living thing. The thread starter did several experiments on herself with photos.

  3. The clique of women who post in the JonBenet Facebook groups are freaky. They spend all day mocking, ridiculing and spewing venom at a 9 yr. old kid. Anyone who disagrees with the admin gets kicked out. They all have mad crushes on Jim Kolar and are in love with him. They think they're brilliant but they take all of their talking points from the anti-Burke, Juror13 website.

What's hilarious is that the one who's running the whole thing posts here under multiple aliases but goes around accusing anyone who disagrees with her on FB of being an alt and bans them.

The level of hatred that is being heaped on one little boy is actually worse than the way Patsy was talked about back when everyone was PDI and the discussion forums existed mostly just to tear her apart and mock her. The BDI craze is proof of that we're a child hating culture. We hate kids more than we hate women. I don't think people care about JonBenet or if they do it's because she's perfect because she's dead.

Every couple of months someone posts the video of the funeral procession on Reddit and everyone there unleashes their hatred on and tears down Burke because they caught him smiling nervously. He's 9. And then there are the police interview videos. A stressed little kid is ripped to shreds by the crowds because he fidgeted, failed at recognizing pineapple, isn't crying and drew an incomplete crayon portrait.

Someone on Reddit recently stabbed herself to prove the train-track theory. She claims to have had email correspondences with the almighty Kolar. She lives to prove to other people that a little boy murdered JonBenet and then violated her corpse. She's actually generally a nice person and I am concerned for her mental health.

The whole thing creeps me out.

    1. While I don't agree that we're a child hating society, a rant about Burke's treatment is entirely justifiable.

How do you know this admin of whom you speak posts here? Can you identify her for us? Have you posted my JBR Encyclopedia quote of 7/20 on her FB group, and asked why Hunter, Kane and Beckner all exonerated Burke?

      Delete
    2. I recognize the posting style. She goes by Lou here. I think she called herself dink at one point. On FB they say that authorities only pretended to clear Burke because he was a minor. I didn't know you had a quote in the JBR encyclopedia. I'll go check that out.

Even StrayDog on Reddit who is actually intelligent and who is currently monopolizing most of the conversations there, is positive the grand jury thought a 3rd party was involved. She claims that it is legally impossible to come to any other conclusion and that it must've been a "runaway jury". She says it was an investigative grand jury and that in Colorado, grand juries can call their own witnesses and launch their own investigation and that that is what happened and they came to the conclusion that it was Burke. I think she got this idea from a former commenter who was a law student who did a rather long pinned post about it.

    3. Check Doc's prior thread, "Neverending Story", at 7/20 for my quote from the Encyclopedia. In fact, read the entire thread for Doc's and my refutations of Burke's involvement.

"Dink" is my pet name for a character known here as Inquisitive, Lou, Castor, or sometimes Anonymous. To understand the history you'd have to go back in Doc's archives to September of 2016.

Thanks for your information, and your interest in the truth.

I don't know anything about a Facebook group, and I'm not registered at reddit either. I don't see the "hate" for children there, nor with Burke in particular. If you're so miserable at any site, click out and do something that adds joy. You either light it up, or diffuse it.

  5. I don't think Anonymous is giving an accurate portrayal of what the Reddit community is about. Here is a summary of the 5 most recent discussion posts there: (1) a refutation of some Ramsey nonsense about the DNA "evidence", (2) debate about whether it's plausible or probable that a child would commit sexual assault, (3) a detailed exploration of the "train track theory", (4) a discussion about why John Ramsey was apologizing to friends after the murder, (5) a discussion about what John Ramsey may have got up to during the time he "disappeared" on the 26th.

In all those discussions, many differing views are presented. You guys, with your personal experience and knowledge of the case, would be welcome contributors to these discussions.

It is certainly not about "child hating" or leading a lynch mob against Burke.

I, for one, see no reason to contribute to reddit, which I've visited several times and found facile and entirely lacking in facts and logic.

But by all means, please yourself.

    2. From Lawrence Schiller's book, "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town":

"Around 7:00 P.M. John Ramsey went for a walk with John Fernie and Dr. Francesco Beuf, JonBenét’s physician, who had brought over some medication for Patsy. When they returned a half hour later, Ramsey asked Bynum to represent him. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” Ramsey told his friends over and over. Then, just after 8:00, he left alone to take a walk in the nearby foothills."

If you have some evidence that contradicts Schiller's account of that evening, I would again suggest that you make a Reddit account and add a comment to the discussion post. I am sure people would be fascinated to see your evidence.

There is of course a recycling of topics on Reddit, as on any cold case discussion forum--but since that site has a large and constantly changing userbase, even the old questions usually prompt new and thought-provoking discussions.

I suppose people discuss this case for different reasons. Some seek nothing more than approval from those they agree with/idolize. Others seek to have their ideas challenged.

  7. Apropos of something or nothing:

The infamous 12/26/96 morning photo of the hallway leading to the wine cellar shows the golf clubs leaning against the wall in the right foreground.

The energetic followers of this mystery recall John Ramsey's request of Patsy's sister (Pam?) to retrieve his golf bag when she was allowed by Boulder police to remove personal items from the house in the days following the murder.

Like others presumably, this writer assumed Ramsey was requesting the retrieval of the small bag with the golf clubs in it (country club golfers often keep both a lighter "carrying bag" and a larger, much heavier and expensive, "cart bag" with their name shown on it, like a professional) shown in the right foreground of the hallway photo.

If you look at the photo very closely, a large golf bag (probably dark brown leather and vinyl), sans any visible golf clubs, looms in the background on the left side in the upper portion of the photo, closer to the wine cellar door, and appears to have John Ramsey's name stitched into the front of it.

Since Ramsey was quoted as wanting his "golf bag" retrieved, with no mention of golf "clubs" that this writer can recall (without researching it at the moment), the writer surmises that the large leather monogrammed bag is the one that Ramsey wanted retrieved.

If so, then make of it what you will.

  8. After looking further there isn't much to make of it, as in June 1998 with Kane and Smit (excerpted below), John addresses his big monogrammed [purple, not brown] golf bag, and strongly denies (truthfully it appears) having mentioned anything about "getting his golf clubs" (before the funeral).

In the third hand recounting by someone earlier in 1998 who supposedly had overheard his asking before the funeral whether or not his "golf bag" had been retrieved, the clubs aren't even mentioned in that person's recounting. People seemed to miss the distinction between a bag and clubs, perhaps because a golf club was so focused on as being a possible murder weapon.

Regardless, as to physical evidentiary value: Pam was not allowed in the basement at all, so it is likely that police went through both the big bag and little bag during their investigations.

"June 1998 John Ramsey Interrogation by Lou Smit and Mike Kane (Golf Clubs and Golfing)

17 MIKE KANE: Which one are you referring to?
18 JOHN RAMSEY: A purple bag with my name on
    19 it.
20 MIKE KANE: From where to where?
21 JOHN RAMSEY: Well, it looks like it's been
22 moved down off the pile, because it's usually
23 here. This laundry basket doesn't show in here.
24 LOU SMIT: So it looks like something has
25 been moved between the time this picture was taken

2 JOHN RAMSEY: It looks like this cane

20 MIKE KANE: Do you remember the day
21 after this happened, being on the phone talking
22 to someone about getting your golf clubs?

  9. Obviously Kane appeared to be interested, as he asked the above question in the June 1998 interview, though addressing the question with respect to golf clubs not the bag.

Aside from the the clubs versus bag loophole, if Mrs. Fernie's supposed recounting in January 1998 was accurate, the common sense speculation was why a man who had just lost his daughter would care anything at all about whether his golf bag had been retrieved from the house.

Not the bag in the hallway photo with clubs in it, but a much larger bag near the wine cellar door it appears from the context. (the photo showing the hallway leading to the wine cellar door was taken before JonBenet's body was discovered according to Smit in the transcript of the June 1998 interviews, and during the investigation both golf bags were moved, of course, such that a later photo following the search warrant showed both bags in a different place, leading to an irrelevant, it seems, or at least highly confusing, back and forth between John and the interviewers in 1998 about the large bag having been moved).

Below is from Kolar's book Foreign Faction (in the passage about Mrs. Fernie's contacting investigators in January 1998 with her recollection about the bag, seemingly being the basis for Kane's above question posed to Ramsey in June 1998):

"Mrs. Fernie recalled that John Ramsey had asked a strange question of the person stopping by her home one evening: He asked if they had remembered to “get his golf bag” from his house. Mrs. Fernie recalled that the individual replied that they had not been able to retrieve the bag, as the police would not let them downstairs."

  12. This interview was done after Burke's Dr. Phil interview and the CBS presentation. Within about 4 years of Jonbenet's murder, tabloids start running stories of BDI, as John mentioned that they sued the tabloids about 4 or five times beginning in 2000-2001 on behalf of Burke when he was 12, "or 13,14".

He said that Burke being on the autism spectrum is "nonsense".

  13. A reddit discussion about the ransom note's apparent location made me realize a significant problem with DocG's theory. The most logical place for the note was Jonbenet's bed; that could have bought time, since no one would have been alerted to her disappearance until she was otherwise checked on. In DocG's scenario, time was paramount for John, and this point did indeed end up working against him. On the other hand, an intruder might not want to risk going back upstairs, and might not be too worried about what happens after he leaves. If it was Patsy, she clearly wasn't worried about time, since she "found" the note and alerted others to it. But at least in DocG's scenario, John would have had every reason to place the note on Jonbenet's bed and hope that Patsy didn't check on her too early. DocG's theory did seem more plausible than the popular RDI scenarios, but this is a significant flaw.

      Delete
  14. Sorry, but I don't see the flaw. Why would John care if Patsy found the note "too early"? The position of the note actually casts suspicion on John because it would only have been put on that staircase by someone who knew her early morning habits.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I suppose this is a futile discussion. Some have argued that the note's apparent location points to an intruder, since Jonbenet's bed would have been the obvious place for it until one considers practical issues an intruder would have faced. But of course a Ramsey could have realized that. Still, in your theory, it seems like John would have wanted to delay Patsy as much as possible. Yes, he might have wanted Patsy to find the note, but it's hard to believe that he intended to be in the shower when that happened.

    ReplyDelete

    1. He knew Patsy well enough to know that she'd never take an action of that sort without consulting with him first. I'm not sure what your problem is. Coulda shoulda woulda are purely speculative. I've been concentrated essentially on the facts and logic of the case.

He's up to his fat ass in loans from Chinese and Russian banks which he cannot repay.

And now today there's a new scandal: The Taliban, whose representatives he invited to Camp David, were paid by Russia to kill American troops in Afghanistan. Trump has known since March, yet saw fit to invite Russia back to the G7, and continues to praise Putin.

One of his own advisors yesterday predicted the most stunning electoral college loss in political history.

That's a lot of losing in a week.

As the epidemic and the economy continue to worsen, so will his numbers. He's all about perception, sees himself as a winner; this must be a tremendous blow to his fragile ego.

I can't help but wonder if he'll resign, head off to Qatar where there's no extradition and he has one of his cheesy properties, to avoid prosecution by the SDNY and the State of New York.

I think it is an obvious and excellent choice.

Then we can, hopefully, begin to heal

    ReplyDelete

And, you think that is healing because you've stopped your temper tantrums. There will be no healing. You've shown yourselves. We don't want to live with you or your ideals. If Biden wins the Republic is over. Also, nothing will happen to Trump. He will have to flee nowhere. And, if you think Biden will win because your polls are telling you that then you're even more delusional than I thought. If Trump loses it won't be because of polls.

He's got nothing but his diminishing cult.

  129. Since both the FDA and the American College of Physicians have warned against the use of hydroxychloroquine as treatment for coronavirus, that's doubtful.

    ReplyDelete
  130. That warning was based on faulty data used by the Lancet "study." Doctors don't need an efficacy study to administer medicine. Hydroxychloroquine is safe and been used for decades to treat malaria and lupus. Also, the evidence isn't anecdotal. You and Dr. Fauci need to learn the meaning of anecdotal. These are medical professionals scientifically administering medication to their patients and recordings dosages, effects and results. This isn't anecdotal. I know it is natural for you to acquiesce to the authority of the Federal Government but real medical professionals don't need Fauci, the CDC, or the FDA to treat their patients.

You should consider independent thinking and research rather than blindly following your idiotic, LOSING hero.

The epidemic has killed 127,000 Americans. There are 40M unemployed and the economy is in the toilet.

    All thanks to your hero.

  143. Typical leftist redirect when confronted with facts. Not very clever.

  144. Clever enough.

I've no interest in YOUR attempts at misdirection, or your hero's with his lobsters and statues.

The coronavirus is surging. Americans are dying, despite your assurance that it would "all be over by April 2" and "bottomed out by April 3".

    LOSER. LIAR. FAILURE.

  145. Did you know the NYT story about Trump being briefed about the GRU offering Taliban fighters bounties on US soldiers was fake news? Did you know that? Or, were you intentionally or ignorantly spewing leftist propaganda?

It's been verified by the CIA and other intel organizations. Look it up.

It's as real as it gets, and Trump wants to pretend he wasn't briefed?

    1. It is fake news. The intelligence community assessed that the information was suspect so they didn't brief Trump. This is according to the Washington Examiner. Who has more credibility the Washington Examiner or the NYT?
